BIO

Jamie Nelson is an award-winning female fashion & beauty photographer & director. Born in a cabin in Texas, she was raised in a small Colorado town where she discovered her passion for photography at the age of 17.

Nelson attended the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in California earning her degree in advertising photography. Upon graduation, Jamie moved to New York City to pursue her career in fashion & beauty photography. There, she developed her signature style–drawing from her roots in punk music, retro clothing, and motorcycle culture.

Often referencing vintage eras, Nelson time-warps the viewer from the plight of the current cultural climate to a bygone era of rebellion, freedom, and fun. As a female photographer, Nelson invites a unique sensuality that uplifts, rather than objectifies her models––redefining the female gaze.

With her colorful, over-the-top, iconic imagery, Nelson blurs the lines between commercial, art, and editorial worlds.

Jamie’s photography has been featured in countless publications worldwide including Vogue, Playboy, and Vanity Fair. She has directed advertising campaigns for luxury brands Dior, Shiseido, and Sak’s Fifth Avenue. Nelson’s celebrity collaborations include a-listers Drew Barrymore, Halsey, and Camila Cabello. She has collaborated on multiple album covers for Gwen Stefani, Megan Thee Stallion, and Grammy award-winning Maren Morris, to name a few.

Nelson’s directing work includes a commercial for Glenlivet whisky featuring Anna Paquin. She has also created video campaigns along side Ariana Grande for r.e.m. beauty. Additional video clients include Pair of Thieves, Urban Decay, and About Face Cosmetics.

Jamie has exhibited her artwork at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City and the Corpricudi exhibit in Rome, Italy. In 2025, she was awarded the title of Photographer Icon at the SIHOF (Swimwear Icon Hall of Fame) awards. Guided by a commitment to both artistic expression and social impact, Nelson regularly contributes her art to charitable auctions.

Nelson is a living, breathing work of art herself, known for her eclectic attire. She can be spotted driving her '68 pink Mustang or riding her pink Harley Davidson chopper. She currently resides in Los Angeles in her infamous pink palace—where art imitates life daily. Nelson’s world includes colorful 70’s floor to ceiling shag carpet, a round spinning bed, phallic topiary, and a jukebox.
